In case you haven't heard it elsewhere, there's a plan afoot to add continuations to Java via the JSR process. here's a little blurb about it, and there's also a Wiki for discussing continuations and the JSR process. They've already got links to Seaside and Chris Double's modal web server example, so they're on the right track.
